The AM1000 RangeMaster is an unconventional type of transmitter, it can develop hundred of volts of RF off the .1 watt allowed in Part 15.219 regulations. From this sometimes amazing results can be achieved. Usually long ranges are achieved by people with technical backgrounds, and those who have put time and research into the installation.

The driving force behind the unit, Keith Hamilton, enjoyed Part 15 broadcasting in high school. There just wasn't a long range Part 15 transmitter on the market that had broadcast quality sound, designed to be a transmitter for a small radio station. Part 15 stations generally were using transmitters intended for selling real estate, or uncertified kits, which if the FCC came calling to the station would look pretty bad to be using an uncertified kit. In 1999 a contractor for the department of defense took an interest in the transmitter because of its unusual characteristics for an project to communicate with underwater drones. Rangemaster worked on this project for about a year.

Since 2000 we have been selling the Rangemaster AM1000 unit, we enjoy working with people to get them going with their license free radio station!
